Announcements

The church’s financial statement for November 2015 is posted for review in the office over the copy machine.

If you have photographs of special occasions from 2015 (family events, church events, vacations), let’s include them in our “Collage of Memories” slideshow.  Garry Dole can convert printed photos or digital formats are fine.  We’re planning to make them a part of our service on December 27th.

We hope you can join us at the parsonage for our Christmas Tea between 2 and 5 pm this afternoon.  It’s a time for our family to express the love and appreciation we feel to all of you who mean so much to us.  Feel free to stop by for favorite holiday foods with good friends.  We look forward to sharing this special time with you. – Alice, Derek, Katie, Rebekah, Joel and Owen

During the Advent season, our morning worship services will commemorate the season with candles, readings, and special messages.  This year’s theme is “We Have Heard on High”, a series of Advent reflections on the angelic messengers in the Christmas story, their message, and what we can learn from their startling appearances throughout redemptive history.  Pray that this will be an encouraging, challenging time in our congregation.

In lieu of mittens and toys, the Dewey Missionary Society is collecting Christmas presents of money for Promise Valley (formerly Seneca Gospel Mission) to help with various renovation projects.  If you’d like to be involved in this Dewey Christmas Project, use the mitten envelope from last week -  make checks payable to First Congregational Church with “Dewey Christmas Project” in the memo.  Thank you for your generous giving.
