ANNOUNCEMENTS

Tuesday, September 30th

Ladies’ Bible Study is back on track at Evie Mann’s home in Eden. They are beginning a new study: “Meeting God.” If you’re looking for more study, encouragement and prayer in your life, consider joining this group. The study begins at 8:00 pm. If you’re interested, see Alice.

Wednesday, October 1st
Choir practice at the church at 6:00 pm.

Bible Study and Prayer meets 7:00 pm at church. We are in the prophetic portions of Daniel, Chapters 7-12. It’s a great time to join us!

Thursday, October 2nd
Elders meeting 6:30 pm at the church. Come prepared to discuss Chapter 8 of the Elders Handbook (“Marriage and the Family”).

Sunday, October 5th
Next Sunday we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper. If you would like to participate but are unable to be here, see Derek or one of the Elders to arrange another time. Don’t be shy about taking full advantage of this important gesture of unity with Christ and his body.
As is our custom, following our Communion Meal, we’ll be enjoying a fellowship meal together. Also, as we’re finishing up our dessert, we are planning to have a family meeting in the adult Sunday School classroom, a brief, casual time in which questions from the congregation can be asked about any subject, comments expressed, and special concerns raised. We will discuss the proposed statement by the Elders regarding the Lord’s Supper. In preparation for that meeting, pick up a copy of the proposed statement on the back table. Copies of our current Constitution & Bylaws are also available.

During this time of increasing expenses, we are lagging behind in our third-quarter commitments to our missionaries. Let’s join together with generous, thankful hearts, praying that God would continue to bless the ministry that extends outward from this place.

Get the most out of the service by asking about our special listening devices. Pick up one in the back or see an usher. If yours isn’t working properly, don’t be bashful about raising your hand to ask for assistance.

The church’s financial statement for May 2008 is posted for review in the office over the copy machine. During this time of increasing expenses, we are beginning to lag behind in some of our financial commitments. Let’s join together with generous, thankful hearts, praying that God would continue to bless the ministry that extends outward from this place. For he is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond
all that we ask or think. (Ephesians 3:20).
