Also next week, the COFFEE WITH CALVIN reading group is planning to gather over dessert to discuss Ryken’s book “Discovering God”. If you’re a part of that group, get busy reading!

As part of “Celebrate North Collins” (a communitywide event on Saturday, October 2nd, to help raise money for the North Collins Library), we are hoping to contribute a pig roast. It’s a tasty way to be visible in the community, and it gives us a chance to hand out gospel tracts and church literature along with pork sandwiches, glasses of birch beer, and a friendly witness. If you would like to be involved (planning, set-up, serving, clean-up), let Derek know. It’s a great opportunity to put a warm face on our church, but it’s labor intensive. Without volunteers, this little piggy can’t go to market.

This morning, we welcome Tony Barone to our pulpit. No stranger to our congregation, Mr. Barone has served for many years as chaplain for the Buffalo City Mission. Now retired, he continues to serve area churches like our own in a variety of ways. Let’s give him our full attention as he brings a message from God’s word.
CALENDAR
Sunday, August 15th
Our next community hymn sing will be held at Camp Pioneer’s Wendt Chapel (Herr and Lake Shore Roads in Angola) at 6:00 pm. Plan now to be part of this time of singing and fellowship with friends from area churches. Bring a favorite dessert to pass.
Wednesday, August 18th
We will resume our study of 1 Corinthians and a challenging look at Paul’s teaching on spiritual gifts (Chapter 14). It’s a great time to join us!
Throughout the summer, we have scheduled several events to keep us connected and offer opportunities to invite friends and neighbors to join us:
Sunday, August 22nd – Outdoor Worship & Church picnic at the Hills’ – plan on bringing a side dish/salad or dessert to share. Drinks and meat will be provided. You may also like to bring your own folding chair.
Sunday, September 19th – Sunday Night Out at the Doles’ pond
Get the most out of the service by asking about our special listening devices. Pick up one in the back or see an usher for help. If yours isn’t working properly, don’t be bashful about raising your hand to ask for assistance.

CALENDAR
Tonight - Sunday, May 16th
Singspiration! at First Congregational Church (UCC) at 132 N. Main, Angola. Plan to join us at 6:30 pm as we sing and enjoy fellowship with our friends from participating churches. You may want to bring a favorite dessert to pass.
Wednesday, May 19th
Choir practice at the church at 6:00 pm.
Bible Study and Prayer is postponed until next week due to a schedule conflict. Join us on the 26th as we continue on in our study of 1 Corinthians. Come for a challenging look at Paul’s teaching on the Communion Meal in Chapter 11.
Get the most out of the service by asking about our special listening devices. Pick up one in the back or see an usher for help. If yours isn’t working properly, don’t be bashful about raising your hand to ask for assistance.
