This season marks the beginning of an experimental youth group (“3D Youth”) in conjunction with the First Church of Evans. It’s a practical way to combine resources toward a common goal – discipling young people, building relationships, and constructing a Christian worldview. See insert for details.

As part of the weekend celebration marking the 100th Anniversary of the founding of the Village of North Collins, an outdoor worship service of thanksgiving is planned. Join Christians from our Village churches (Holy Spirit, Sacred Heart of Mary, Wesleyan, and Congregational) at the North Collins Library pavilion at 2:00 pm to thank God with song, historical testimonies, and a word of challenge. There will be an old-fashioned picnic to follow. Derek will be coordinating this service. If you’d like to help out, see him.

Dr. Gordon currently serves as Professor of Religion and Greek at Grove City College and has been our teaching guest for this year’s Leadership Forum. Let’s give Dr. Gordon our full attention as he opens God’s Word for us this morning.
The Tri-County Crisis Pregnancy Center will hold its annual “Walk for Life” on Sunday, June 12, beginning at 1:30 pm from the Gowanda Free Methodist Church. Walkers of all ages are invited to participate and ask friends, relatives, and neighbors to sponsor them. All funds received will help reach out to women with crisis pregnancies. Free services include peer counseling, pregnancy testing, pre-natal vitamins, baby clothes, baby furniture, and referrals for additional services. Contact Audrianne Eddy at 532-5056 for information.

Dr. Gordon will address the theme of Christian worship in a media-saturated age. He will remain with us on the Lord’s Day, at which time he will address our adult Sunday school class and preach during our family worship time. As part of the weekend celebration marking the 100th Anniversary of the founding of North Collins (village), area churches are assembling for an outdoor service of thanksgiving. Join Christians from the Holy Spirit, Sacred Heart of Mary, Wesleyan, and Congregational churches at the library pavilion at 2:00 pm to thank God in song, historical testimonies, and a word of challenge. There will be an old-fashioned picnic to follow. Derek will be coordinating this service. If you’d like to help out, see him.

Check out “Ask the Pastor” on Wednesday, May 18th at 2:00 pm (TCT Network and Dish Network, channel 26; DirecTV does not carry the program), as Derek tries to make good use of this special opportunity. “Ask the Pastor” is a live call-in program with a panel of five area Senior Pastors answering viewer questions about life and the Bible from the Bible.
The Tri-County Crisis Pregnancy Center will hold its annual “Walk for Life” on Sunday, June 12, beginning at 1:30 pm from the Gowanda Free Methodist Church. Walkers of all ages are invited to participate and ask friends, relatives, and neighbors to sponsor them. All funds received will help reach out to women with crisis pregnancies. Free services include peer counseling, pregnancy testing, pre-natal vitamins, baby clothes, baby furniture, and referrals for additional services. Contact Audrianne Eddy at 532-5056 for information.

This fascinating subject will be the focus of this year’s FCC Leadership Forum. Join us as we welcome T. David Gordon for a challenging, worldview-building weekend together.
The FCC Leadership Forum will include two morning sessions, beginning at 9:30 am, and will conclude by mid-afternoon with a third session. Dr. Gordon will remain with us on the Lord’s Day, at which time he will address our adult Sunday School class and preach during our family worship time. Address Update! Ruth and Roy Shelpman are phasing down the orphanage aspect of the Metzler Youth Home and will be returning to the States July 28. Choir practice at the church at 6:00 pm.
In order to free up people’s evening schedules during Holy Week, there will be no Bible study this Wednesday. Plan to join us April 27th, when we resume our study of Hebrews, called “The Supremacy of Christ”.

T. David’s “Johnny” books are in. If you requested copies, pick up one of each on the back table, and start reading! Be thinking about a good first meeting date. This is in preparation for our upcoming Leadership Forum with T. David Gordon next month, over the weekend of May 20-22.
Plan now to be a part of these special seasonal services:
Thursday, April 21st – Traditional Maundy Thursday candlelight vigil at 7:00 pm including the Lord’s Supper
Friday, April 22nd – Good Friday Service at the Wesleyan Church at 7:00 pm
Sunday, April 24th – Easter Sunday. We’ll begin our Easter celebration at 9:30 am with a Praise & Prayer Service (come with a word of testimony!) followed by our traditional Easter breakfast buffet downstairs, starting about 10:00. Family worship service at 10:45 am. Plan now to be part of these special Holy Week services!
The flowers at the front of the Winter Chapel were donated by the family of Beulah Beaver, whose funeral service was held on Wednesday.
We are saddened by the news of Don Gebhardt’s sudden death on Monday at Millard Fillmore Gates, where he had been hospitalized. Condolences go out to his children, Carol Grantinetti of Buffalo and Earl Gebhardt of Virginia. The family is not planning to hold a memorial service at this time.
