Thanks to all who supported the 3DYouth Group’s involvement in the 30-Hour Famine through sponsorships, contributing food items, or praying for them.  Though challenging, it was a positive, rewarding experience.  More details to come.

Cookbook Update:  We have over 100 delicious recipes for the 1st edition FCC Family Cookbook!  There is still time to include your family favorites.  Deadline for submitting recipes is Sunday, March 10th.  That will give me time to format, categorize, print and bind for a May book release!  Thank you all for your time and sharing “family secrets”.   ~  Lori

Pizza will be served at 1:00 pm, and then it’s off to distribute fliers for the
 30-Hour Famine food drive.  Bring your permission slips
and report on your fundraising!   

Be praying for our young people as they participate in the 30-Hour Famine
 in Angola on Friday and Saturday.   
Because of Derek’s involvement in the 30-Hour Famine,
Bruce Brown will bring next week’s message.

“This week (Feb 18-22) is an ‘off’ week for our night programs.  If you’re free day or night, I’ve got a few projects that could use extra hands.  Maybe a little painting, drywall and some organizing to spiff this ministry center up a bit.”

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Interest has been expressed in joining the church.  If others would like to be part of a class for prospective members, see Derek or one of the Elders.  The class is designed for those considering church membership.  If you’re already a member, but still don’t have the foggiest idea what American Congregationalism is all about, come and sit in on this three- or four-session class.  Details to follow.

“Wish I had that recipe!”  Have you said that after one of our potluck’s?  One of our projects for 2013 is to print a FCC Family Cookbook.  Let’s include not only our potluck favorites, but your own family recipes too.  Lori Clapper will attempt to put this together in hopes of having it ready by Mother’s Day.  So, start writing out or photo coping your recipes and get them to Lori in the coming weeks.

Committee and Department Heads:  Our Annual Meeting is just a few weeks away.  All reports must be submitted to Audrey for compilation by the end of the month – or you get to read yours aloud at the meeting!  J

3DYouth Group meets here at 6:00 pm.  Life lessons from Timothy followed by favorite board games and refreshments.

Wednesday, January 9th
Choir practice at the church at 6:00 pm.

Join us at the church for Bible study and prayer at 7:00 pm.  We’re moving into Chapter 13 of our ongoing study in Hebrews (“The Supremacy of Christ”).  It’s a great time to join us!

Thursday, January 10th
Dewey Missionary Society will be meeting this week at 10:00 am.  Come prepared to discuss budget proposals for 2013.

Tuesday, January 15th
Elders’ Meeting at 6:00 pm.   Come prepared to discuss Chapters 13 (“Christian Biography”) and 14 (“Hard Texts”) in Piper.

Church Board meeting at 7:00 pm.  This will be the 2013 budget meeting.
