ANNOUNCEMENTS

Tuesday, October 2nd

Ladies Bible Study has begun a new season with an exciting study in the Pastoral Epistles (1-2 Timothy, Titus). If you are looking for more study, encouragement and prayer in your life, consider joining this group. We meet at Evie Mann’s at 8 pm.

Wednesday, October 3rd
Choir practice 6:00 pm at the church.

Wednesday Bible Study & Prayer Meeting meets at 7:00 pm at church. We’re back in Matthew, moving into the final section of the gospel: the crucifixion and resurrection in Chapters 26-28. It’s a great time to join us.

Thursday, October 4th
Elders meet at 7 pm. We are hosting a Lake Shore Association information meeting. Steve Ridge and other LSACC representatives will be with us to talk about the association’s area ministries & the benefits of membership. All are welcome.

Sunday, October 7th
Celebration of the Lord’s Supper. If you would like to participate but are unable to be here, see Derek or one of the Elders to arrange another time. Don’t be shy about taking full advantage of this important gesture of unity with Christ and his body. A fellowship meal with a Thanksgiving theme is planned for November.

Herb & Allie Palmer’s niece (who is their Power of Attorney) has recently moved to North Carolina and she’s asking for our help. In her absence, she is hoping to arrange a visitation schedule. She would like to enlist the help of someone from our congregation to visit the Palmers in Orchard Park once a month. She will send a monthly fee to keep their refrigerator stocked with favorite snacks and to help reimburse for traveling expenses, like gas. This is a great opportunity to serve Herb and Allie during a difficult time in their lives. You may want to try it for a year or even just six months and then let someone else have a turn. If you would like to be part of this important ministry of covenant love, see Derek.

The church’s financial statement for August 2007 is posted for review in the office over the copy machine. Summers are typically low-giving months & this fall finds us lagging behind in our financial commitments. Let’s do our part to support the ongoing ministries of our local church, including missions, by giving generously of our time, prayer, energy and finances. Let’s pray together that God would supply the faith and finances we need to further the work of the kingdom in this area & beyond.
