First Sunday of Advent 11/29/20

Names, Numbers,

& New Beginnings!

Matthew’s genealogy points to Christ,

who would bring Israel’s exile to an end.

True disciples know that only Jesus can deal

with sin and gather sinners ‘home’ at last.

Pastor Derek will continue to provide weekly messages along with the advent readings each week here and on the Facebook page. Let’s not forget to hold each other up in prayer and encourage one another with notes and phone calls!

Next week marks the beginning of Advent 2020. Our online servicess will continue to commemorate the season with candles, readings, and special messages. This year’s Advent theme is “Coming Home for Christmas.”

Be praying with the Nominting Committee as it works to put together a slate of candidates to be considered for office at the Annual Meeting in February 2021. If you would like to know more about the church’s nomination and election process, if you would like to submit a name for consideration, or if you believe the Lord is urging you to step forward—don’t hesitate to speak to Olive, Fred, or Derek.

The Eden-North Collins Food Pantry is the Dewey 2020 Christmas Project. Cash or checks made out to the Eden-North Collins Food Pantry can be dropped off at the Parsonage now through December 10.  Thank you for your generous donations to help the needy in our community.

Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.
