Advent 2007. Our morning worship services celebrate this season with Advent candles, readings, banners, and special messages. This year’s theme is “Advent of the Apocalypse”, exploring different ways Jesus’ ministry is presented in the gospels and further developed in John’s Apocalypse (the book of Revelation). We will consider themes like Seed of the Woman, King of Kings, a New Moses for a New Exodus, and Angel of the Lord. Christmas is more than prophecy fulfilled. It’s a hint of things to come! Let’s prepare our hearts together for this special season.

Make note of these dates for your Christmas calendar:
Sun, Dec. 16th – Christmas Tea at the Parsonage, 2–5 pm
Sun, Dec. 23rd – FCC’s 2007 Sunday School Program,
“It Seems Impossible!” This original production will
be presented during our family worship time.

In an effort to reduce heating costs this winter, the Church Board again recommends meeting in the Adult Sunday School Classroom for worship during the coldest winter months, like we did last year. Once again, alternate locations for affected Sunday School and Junior Church classes are being considered. We recommend holding our first service of the season in the “Winter Chapel” on Dec. 30th. Thank you for your understanding in this important matter. - The Church Board
