Sunday School 9:30 am • Family Worship Service 10:45 am
Wait in Prayer        Worship in Reverence        Depart to Serve
Be mindful that the few minutes before the service are set aside to help prepare for worship.  Some use this time to pray or meditate on the call to worship or just be quiet before the Lord.  Let’s keep our visiting before the service to a minimum
 – or better, let’s wait until after the service.

The Eden United Methodist Church is sponsoring a “Crop Walk” again this year (October 1st) to help support the Eden/North Collins Food Pantry and to fight world hunger.  See brochures in back for details.

Next week, we’ll be back in the Old Testament as we begin a new sermon series in the book of Exodus.  Be praying for me and our lessons in this important part of scripture. – Derek

Calendar

Monday, September 11th
AA meets downstairs from 8:00-9:15 pm.

Tuesday, September 12th
Full Board meets at 7:00 pm at the church, preceded by Elders’ Meeting at 6:00.  Elders, come prepared to discuss the 1st 10 pages of the Duncan article on the back table (“Foundations for Biblically Directed Worship”).

Wednesday, September 13th
Bible study and prayer meets at the church at 7:00 pm.  We only have another week or so in our study of the great themes of Genesis.  We’re finishing Chapter 50 and are looking at “unfinished business” between Joseph and his brothers and a final prospect of hope in the Promised Land.  We’re almost done, but it’s still a great time to join us!

Sunday, September 17th
Sunday School for adults and teens begins next week.

Looking ahead …
Our final Sunday Night Out for the season is scheduled for September 24th at the Doles’ pond.  Meet around 4:00 pm.  Hot dogs (or something) will be provided.  Bring a dish to pass.

Get the most out of the service by asking about our special listening devices.
Pick up one in the back or see an usher for help.  If yours isn’t working properly, don’t be bashful
about raising your hand to ask for assistance.
