Announcements

Interest has been expressed in joining the church.  If others would like to be part of a class for progressive members, see Derek or one of the Elders.  The class is designed for those considering church membership.  But if you’re already a member and still don’t have the foggiest idea what Congregationalism is about, come and sit in on this three- or four-session class.  Details to follow.

It's "Onward in October" Month in Sunday School!  This is our month to remember to be on time for Sunday School at 9:30, bring your Bible, bring an offering, and bring a friend who wants to learn about the Bible with you! Let's keep working hard to memorize our Bible verses, too!

Choir practices are now from 9-10 a.m. one Saturday morning per month, usually toward the end of the month.  If you would like to join choir, please see Alice or Kathy for the date.  We would love to have you come sing with us!

The church’s financial statement for September 2017 is posted for review in the office over the copy machine.

Calendar

Tonight, Sunday, October 22nd: 3DYouth meets at the First Church of Evans at 6:00 pm for life lessons from the Psalms followed by activities and refreshments.

Monday, October 23rd: AA meets downstairs from 8:00 – 9:15 pm.

Wednesday, October 25th: Bible study & prayer meeting at 7:00 pm.  We’re beginning a brand-new study in the gospel of Luke.  It’s a great time to join us.

Saturday, October 28th: Join our WNY / Northwestern PA churches at Fluvanna Community Church for this year’s annual CCCC Regional Fall Banquet.  It’s being called an “Indoor Picnic” and will include activities and games, including a brief report by Derek on our bicentennial celebration.  There is no charge for the meal, but a special offering will be take up to help cover the evening’s expenses.  The evening begins at 5:00 pm.  Reservation deadline is TODAY.  See the sign-up sheet in the foyer for details.

Sunday, October 29th:  It’s Singspiration time again – and our turn to host!  Join us at 6:30 pm for a time of singing and fellowship with friends from area churches.  You may want to bring a favorite “harvest” dessert to share afterward.

Get the most out of the service by asking about our special listening devices.  Pick up one in the back or see an usher for help.  If yours isn’t working properly, don’t be bashful about raising your hand to ask for assistance.
