Announcements

The 2019 Advent season begins December 1st, two weeks from today! Our morning worship services will commemorate the season with candles, readings, and special messages. This year’s  theme is “TIDINGS OF COMFORT AND JOY.” It will focus on the good news of Christmas—how through the incarnation, God draws near, pledges the impossible, makes long-distance promises, and offers hope beyond grief. Pray that this will be an encouraging, challenging time in our congregation as we reflect on Jesus’ work at Christmas.
The church’s financial statement for October 2019 is posted for review in the office over the copy machine.
Be praying with the Nominating Committee as it meets to put together a slate of candidates for office at the Annual Meeting in February 2020. If you would like to know more about our church’s nomination and election process, if you would like to submit a name for nomination, or if you believe the Lord is urging you to step forward—don’t hesitate to speak to Olive, Fred, or Derek.
If you would be interested in being a reader or singer in this year’s Christmas Program, “Vessels of Mercy”  please see Kathy!

Don’t forget to silence your devices.
Calendar
Monday, November 18th: AA meets downstairs from 8:00-9:15 pm.
Wednesday November 20th: Join us for Midweek Bible Study and Prayer Meeting at the church at 7:00 pm. We are moving into Luke 10 and the ministry of the 70--however we account for them!--as Jesus makes his way to Jerusalem and the cross. It’s a great time to join us!
Thursday, November 21st: Dewey Missionary Society meets in the adult Sunday School classroom at 10 am. Shirley will lead devotions.
Saturday, December 7th: Ladies Christmas Luncheon at 12:00 pm.

Get the most out of the service by asking about our special listening devices.  Pick up one in the back or see an usher for help.  If yours isn’t working properly, don’t be bashful about raising your hand to ask for assistance.
