ANNOUNCEMENTS
This morning marks the beginning of Advent 2010. Our worship services will commemorate the season with candles, readings, banners, and special messages. This year’s theme is “NOW IN FLESH APPEARING.” Over the Christmas season, we’ll consider the mystery of the incarnation and see how Jesus’ humanity is essential to our understanding of God, his word, and our salvation. Let’s prepare our hearts together for this special season.

Dewey Missionary Society will once again put up a Christmas tree for the Seneca Gospel Mission. We will be collecting toys and food items through December 5th. For those contributing Christmas toys - the children (a lot of teens this year) like games, hand-held games, and sports balls (basketballs, footballs, and so forth). For those contributing food for the Christmas baskets, remember: no fresh foods. Only boxed and canned items, such as fruits & vegetables, soups, cereals and desserts (cake mixes with frosting).

CALENDAR

Wednesday, December 1st

Choir practice at the church at 6:00 pm.

Join us for prayer and Bible Study at the church at 7:00 pm. Consider joining us as we begin a new study in the book of Hebrews. Over the next number of months, we’ll be looking at the supremacy of Christ in all things, the book’s principal theme.

Saturday, December 4th
Ladies’ Christmas Luncheon at 12 noon in the adult Sunday school classroom. Bring a favorite Christmas dish to share as well as a contribution (canned goods, please) for the Seneca Gospel Mission. See the sign-up in the foyer.

Sunday December 5th
Join us as we begin a new Sunday school mini-series called “RIGHTLY UNITING THE WORD OF TRUTH.” It’s a several-week-long overview of Dispensationalism and Covenant Theology intended to help us put the pieces of the Bible together and develop a framework for understanding its message.

Sunday December 12th
Christmas Tea at the Parsonage

Sunday December 19th
Sunday School Program (“The Perfect King”)
