ANNOUNCEMENTS

This week marks the beginning of Advent 2011! Our morning worship services will commemorate the season with Advent candles, readings, banners, and special messages. This year’s theme is “ADVENT OF THE EVANGEL.” Over the next month, we’ll consider how the Christmas stories fit with the unique themes of each of the four gospels. Let’s prepare our hearts together for this special season.

Be praying with the Nominating Committee as it meets to prepare a slate of candidates to be considered for office at the Annual Meeting in February 2012. To submit names for consideration or to make any other comments pertaining to the nominating process, see Olive, Fred or Derek in the coming weeks. Pray with us during this important time in our church.

Dewey Missionary Society invites you to participate in out 2011 Christmas Project benefiting the Seneca Gospel Mission. We are collecting toys, clothing and food items through December 4th. For those contributing Christmas toys - the children (a lot of teens this year) like games, hand-held games, and sports balls (basketballs, footballs, and so forth). For those contributing food for the Christmas baskets, remember: no fresh foods. Only boxed and canned items, such as fruits & vegetables, soups, cereals and desserts (cake mixes with frosting)!
