Announcements

We hope you can join us for a fellowship meal following this morning’s service.

A new doxology for a new month!  Many beautiful doxologies are available for use in Christian worship, and we like to try new ones periodically.  Beginning this month, we’ll be using the Gloria Patri (Lat. “Glory to the Father”).  It goes like this:  “Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.  Amen, amen.”  It’s one of my favorites – Derek

If you are looking for ways to help in the wake of the Nepalese earthquake, you may want to consider routing charitable gifts to the Nepal Disaster Relief Fund through Christian Air Mission, P.O. Box 9037, Charlottesville, Virginia 22906.  Indicate Gift Code 702DIS.

Calendar
Tuesday, June 9th
Full Board meets at 7:00 pm at the church, preceded by Elders’ Meeting at 6:00.  Elders, come prepared to discuss Chapter 10 in Swetland (“Child Molestation: The Sins of the Fathers”) and the review questions that follow.

Wednesday, June 10th
Choir practice at 6:00 pm.

Join us for Bible study and prayer at the church at 7:00 pm.  In our survey of the great themes of Genesis, we’re beginning Chapter 12 and the life and ministry of Father Abraham.  It’s a great time to join us!

Saturday, June 13th and Sunday, June 14th
Plan now to join us for our 12th annual Leadership Forum.  T. David Gordon, this year’s guest lecturer, will be with us to speak about Those Puzzling Parables – the use of parables in the Bible, in Jesus’ ministry, and in the church today.  It’s sure to be an enjoyable, challenging weekend of learning and application.  See the sign-up in back.

Sunday, June 28th
3DYouth Year-End Picnic at the Doles’ Pond.  Plan to meet at 4:00 pm for our regular time of worship and singing, life lessons from Mark, and games, followed by a picnic meal of hot dogs & s’mores.

Get the most out of the service by asking about our special listening devices.

Pick up one in the back or see an usher for help.  If yours isn’t working properly, don’t be bashful about raising your hand to ask for assistance.
