Announcements

This morning, we welcome Rasheed Akhtar back to North Collins.  Mr. Akhtar is currently serving as ISI’s South Asia Campus Minister.  His testimony and ministry among international students bears powerful witness to God’s work in his life.  Let’s give him our full attention as he brings a message from God’s word.

The Yoders return from their vacation tomorrow.   Be praying for safe travel as they travel back from Michigan.  Contact Bruce Temple with any important matters in Derek’s absence.

Making Sense of Job
Notes on Job 24:1-25 : “The burden of this section is found in its opening and closing words:  “Why are times not laid up by the Almighty?  And why do those who know him not see his days?”  God does not, like Samuel, have a regular circuit for preserving order and punishing crime.  Cruel and greedy men prey unchecked upon the helpless.  Job voices the plaintive, “How long?” for all those who are oppressed.  But God, in his inscrutable wisdom, allows the lives of the wicked to attain full maturity and to end as other men’s lives end.  Sure of his facts, Job issues his victory challenge.”
