ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Yoders are planning to vacation in Maine August 13^th – 27^th.  During Derek’s absence, we will look forward to hearing from Bruce Brown (August 19^th) and Rasheed Ahktar (August 26^th).

If you want to be part of our next “Coffee with Calvin” reading group, see Derek to order your copy of Tim Keller’s The Reason for God.  After the books have been ordered and received, we’ll pick a discussion date, probably later in the summer.

There will be no Dewey Missionary meetings in August.  Please continue to keep our missionaries, both home and overseas, in prayer. 

Have you heard of the new TV game show?  Premiering August 23^rd at 8:00 pm on the Game Show Network is “The American Bible Challenge” hosted by Jeff Foxworthy.  It is a spirited game show that will celebrate the Bible and its place in American culture.  Bible enthusiasts from all across the country will complete in a variety of challenges that put their knowledge of the Good Book to test.

Choir practice at the church at 6:00 pm.

Join us at the church for Bible study and prayer at 7:00 pm.  We’re in Chapter 11 of our ongoing study in our study in Hebrews (“The Supremacy of Christ”).  Also, be meditating on the next hymn in our discussion series (“And Can it Be?”).  Extra copies are on the back table along with T. David Gordon’s  “Hymns:  Criteria for Making Good Ones”.

Thursday, August 2^nd

Elders’ meeting at the church at 6:30 pm.  Come prepared to discuss Chapters 9-10 in Piper (“Sacred Substitutes” and “Fight for Your Life”).
