Announcements
During
Advent 2014, our morning worship services will commemorate the season with
candles, readings, banners, and special messages. This year’s theme is
“Flesh
of Our Flesh”,
a series of reflections on the importance of Christ’s taking on human
flesh. Pray that this will be an
encouraging, challenging time in our congregation.
If you would like to be on the 2015
rotation of Sunday morning scripture readers, see Derek.
Be praying
with the Nominating Committee as it works to prepare a slate of candidates to
be considered for office at the Annual Meeting in February. To submit names, see Olive, Fred, or Derek.
Calendar
Tuesday, December 9th
Elders’ meeting at 6:00 pm.
Come prepared to discuss Chapter 7 in Swetland (“Spouse and Child Abuse:
Conspiracy of Silence”) and the review questions that follow.
Church Board meets at 7:00 pm
Wednesday, December 10th
Choir
practice at 6:00 pm.
Join
us for Bible study and prayer here at church at 7:00 pm. We’ve begun a survey of the great themes of
Genesis and are finishing up the “common curses” and Adam and Eve’s expulsion
from the garden in Chapter 3. It’s a
great time to join us!
Friday,
December 12th
Play practice for the 2014 Christmas
program (“Set Apart To Serve”) here at church from 6-7 pm.
Sunday, December 14th
Christmas Tea at the Parsonage from
2-5 pm.
Sunday, December 21st
Sunday School Christmas Program
(“Set Apart to Serve”) during the family worship hour.
Sunday, January 4th
Singspiration! at Lake View Community Church. The Christmas season comes to a close with “Little
Christmas” at 6:30 pm. Refreshments to
follow.
Get the
most out of the service by asking about our special listening devices. Pick up one in the back or see an usher for
help. If yours isn’t working properly,
don’t be bashful about raising your hand to ask for assistance.
