 Announcements
Next Sunday we will celebrate the Lord’s Supper.  If you would like to participate but are unable to be here, see Derek or one of the Elders to arrange another time.  Don’t be shy about taking full advantage of this important gesture of unity with Christ and his body.  After the service, we are planning to gather for a fellowship meal downstairs.  See the sign-up in the foyer.

Welcome Back Sunday!  Meet in the sanctuary at 9:30 am for our Sunday School kickoff followed by our fall Concert of Prayer (adults and teens).  Family worship begins at 10:45 am.

Thursday, September 13th
Our next Sit’nSew day!  This is a time for Dewey outreach to our home missions through making donation lap quilts and bed quilts.  We hope to make the second Thursday of every month our sewing day.  If there is enough interest, we could expand to twice a month to complete projects more quickly.  Clean, laundered fabric scraps are always welcome.

Thursday, September 20th
Dewey Missionary meeting.  We generally meet on the third Thursday of every month to hear our missionaries’ letters from around the world and to pray for their needs.  Come join us to support and be made aware of the work of our fellow Christians in India, Brazil, Haiti, North Africa, the Philippines, the Netherlands, Europe and China!

Sunday, September 23rd 
Franklin Graham’s “Rock the Lake” crusade is coming to Buffalo!  Bus leaves First Church of Evans between 2:30 – 3:00 pm.  If you’re interested in attending, get your name and $5 for a seat on the bus to Derek before the 23rd.  All are welcome.

 Announcements

This morning, we welcome Rasheed Akhtar back to North Collins. Mr. Akhtar is currently serving as ISI’s South Asia Campus Minister.  His testimony and ministry among international students bears powerful witness to God’s work in his life.  Let’s give him our full attention as he brings a message from God’s word.

The Yoder family is returning to North Collins today after a 2-week family vacation in Maine.  Derek will return to the study August 27th.  Feel free to contact Matt Clapper (352-4932) or Bruce Temple (549-3715) during this time with any urgent church business.

Have you heard of the new TV game show?  Premiering August 23rd at 8:00 pm on the Game Show Network is “The American Bible Challenge” hosted by Jeff Foxworthy.  It is a spirited game show that will celebrate the Bible and its place in American culture.  Bible enthusiasts from all across the country will complete in a variety of challenges that put their knowledge of the Good Book to test.

Check out “Ask the Pastor” on Wednesday, July 18th at 2:00 pm (TCT Network and Dish Network channel 26, DirecTV does not carry the program), as Derek tries to make good use of this special opportunity.  “Ask the Pastor” is a live call-in program with a panel of five area Senior Pastors answering viewer questions about life and the Bible from the Bible.

It’s hard to believe, but the fall academic year is just around the corner!  Sunday School and Junior Church teachers are invited to gather for a few minutes to schedule a planning meeting to discuss curricula, class assignments, and related matters.  See Pam Johengen after the service.
